Prince William and Meghan Markle - once family, now on very different paths - both found themselves in the Emmy conversation this week, each recognized for a separate television project.

The Prince of Wales earned two Primetime Emmy nominations for his cameo on Apple TV+'s "The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy." His episode, "Living the Royal Life in the U.K.," welcomed Levy to Windsor Castle for a candid conversation about family, legacy, and public service, and picked up nods for Outstanding Writing for a Nonfiction Program and Outstanding Hosted Nonfiction Series or Special. Levy later said William seemed intent on showing a more approachable side of the monarchy.

Just a day earlier, Meghan Markle's Netflix lifestyle series "With Love, Meghan" earned its first-ever Daytime Emmy nomination, for Outstanding Lifestyle Program. It's the first Emmy recognition of Meghan's post-acting career. She thanked her crew and production team in a social media post celebrating the news.

Two very different formats - one a royal documentary moment, the other a lifestyle series built around home and hospitality - landed in the same awards conversation within 24 hours of each other, a reminder of how differently public service and public life can be lived out.

Whatever the platform, both moments point to something worth noting: influence isn't confined to one lane, and how someone chooses to show up - whether behind palace walls or in front of a camera - still has the power to shape how others see grace, family, and purpose. "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds" (Matthew 5:16) applies well beyond a pulpit.

The 78th Primetime Emmy Awards air September 14 on NBC and Peacock. The Daytime Emmy winners will be announced October 30.
