As the search for Nancy Guthrie enters its 12th day, federal authorities have released new details that they hope will generate critical leads. The updated Nancy Guthrie suspect description comes as the FBI increases its reward to $100,000 for information leading to her location or an arrest.
According to investigators, a man seen on doorbell footage at Guthrie's Tucson-area home the morning she disappeared is described as between 5'9" and 5'10" tall with an average build. The individual was reportedly carrying a black 24-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack, a brand sold exclusively at Walmart. Authorities previously released security images showing a masked person wearing gloves and appearing to tamper with the home's front-door camera.
Multiple gloves have since been recovered during the investigation, though officials have not confirmed whether they were worn by the suspect. A man detained earlier this week for questioning was released without charges. Law enforcement continues to review surveillance footage from the surrounding neighborhood and has asked residents to submit recordings from the weeks leading up to Guthrie's disappearance.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was reported missing on February 1 after failing to attend a virtual church service. Authorities urge anyone with information related to the Nancy Guthrie suspect description to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI or submit tips at tips.fbi.gov.
