Tributes continue to pour in following the passing of James Van Der Beek, with friends and former co-stars remembering not only his talent but his deep faith and devotion to family.

The Dawson's Creek star died Feb. 11 at age 48 after a nearly three-year battle with colorectal cancer. In the days since, Hollywood has responded with heartfelt messages reflecting on his life, character, and courage.

Katie Holmes, who starred alongside Van Der Beek on the hit teen drama, shared a handwritten note honoring their years working together. She described him as someone whose "bravery, compassion, selflessness and strength" left a lasting imprint on her life.

Alfonso Ribeiro, a close friend and godfather to one of Van Der Beek's daughters, previously said he was "broken" by the loss but grateful he was able to say goodbye. He described Van Der Beek as his "true friend, brother and life guide."

Former co-stars including Busy Philipps, Kerr Smith, and Mary-Margaret Humes also shared emotional tributes, while others such as Lin-Manuel Miranda and Zoe Saldaña expressed their condolences and support for the family.

Van Der Beek's wife, Kimberly, said he met his final days with "courage, faith, and grace." Many who walked closely with him during his illness echoed that sentiment, noting the peace and trust in God he demonstrated even in suffering.

As tributes continue, friends say his greatest legacy remains his love for his wife and six children-a testimony of faith, resilience, and enduring hope.
