Ella Langley's breakthrough moment has officially arrived.
The Alabama-born country singer-songwriter has climbed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 with her hit single "Choosin' Texas," marking the first chart-topper of her career. The achievement, reflected on the chart dated Feb. 14, 2026, places Langley in rare company - and signals a major milestone for women in country music.
According to Billboard, "Choosin' Texas" is the first song by a woman to simultaneously lead the Hot 100, Hot Country Songs, and Country Airplay charts. During the latest tracking week (Jan. 30-Feb. 5), the single earned 22.1 million U.S. streams, 34.4 million radio airplay audience impressions, and 12,000 digital sales. The surge followed Langley's social media appeal encouraging fans to give the song one final push. "Let's do it for women & let's do it for country music," she wrote - and listeners responded.
Co-written by Langley alongside Miranda Lambert, Luke Dick, and Joybeth Taylor, the track serves as the lead single from her upcoming sophomore album, Dandelion, set for release April 10. Lambert also co-produced the song, adding another notable achievement to her decorated career.
Beyond the chart statistics, Langley's rise reflects a broader cultural shift as female country artists continue breaking long-standing industry barriers. Open about her Christian faith, Langley has previously shared how her relationship with God has sustained her through struggles with anxiety and self-doubt - a steady foundation amid the pressures of growing fame.
With a new album on the horizon and a packed touring schedule ahead, Langley's historic No. 1 moment may only be the beginning of an even bigger 2026.
