Several artists are distancing themselves from the agency following renewed scrutiny surrounding founder Casey Wasserman.
Wasserman Music is facing heightened scrutiny as multiple artists move to leave the agency after the recent release of Department of Justice documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. The documents referenced past communications between founder and CEO Casey Wasserman and Ghislaine Maxwell.
Wasserman has stated he deeply regrets the correspondence, which occurred more than two decades ago, and has denied any involvement in criminal wrongdoing. He has not been accused of participating in Epstein's crimes.
Still, several artists have publicly expressed concern. Best Coast's Bethany Cosentino was among the first to call for leadership changes. Artists including Chappell Roan, Orville Peck, Wednesday, and Beach Bunny have since announced plans to depart or begin exploring options to leave the agency.
According to reports from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter, senior agents within the company are evaluating possible restructuring scenarios, including leadership adjustments or a potential spin-off of the music division.
The situation is significant given Wasserman Music's influence. Since acquiring Paradigm's North American live music division in 2021, the agency has become one of the most dominant forces in touring and festival bookings, representing artists such as Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, Kendrick Lamar, and Lorde.
Beyond music, Wasserman also serves as chairman of the LA28 Olympic organizing committee, where public scrutiny has likewise emerged.
As the story develops, the broader conversation within the entertainment industry continues to center on leadership accountability, ethical alignment, and trust - values many artists increasingly prioritize in their professional partnerships.
