'NCIS: New Orleans' CBS Release Date 2014 Announced, New Cast Additions Including Rob Kerkovich for Popular Spin-off Series
CBS will be adding a new NCIS series to its Fall 2014 television line up, "NCIS: New Orleans". The show will be ran by executive producer Gary Glasberg and will star Mark Harmon and Scott Bakula. CBS has announced that "NCIS: New Orleans" will debut its premiere episode on Tuesday, September 23rd at 9 p.m. after the season 12 "NCIS" at 8 p.m.
At the Television Critics Association's summer press tour, Showrunner Glasberg shared that the series is adding a new cast member Rob Kerkovich. Along with Harmon and Bakula, the show will star Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and David McCallum. Kerkovich is set to play the role of forensic scientist Sebastian, who will be working alongside CCH Pounder's Dr. Wade, the Jefferson Parish Medical Examiner.
"We're planning an episode where Gibbs (Harmon) makes an appearance; there will be crossovers. Michael Weatherly, Pauley Perrette and David McCallum will be involved. That's the fun we have here with the interaction," Glasberg shared. "As for when and how often, there's a lot that goes into planning and schedules and making sure Mark is here with NCIS but we'll keep the balls in the air and make it work as well as we can."
"NCIS: New Orleans" begins production this month on location in New Orleans.
Bakula expressed: "We have big shoes to follow. The hope is that we can get an audience to invest with us. We have to earn our audience. It's not a given. We have great guidance from this team."
