See&C Release 'Swords To Shovels' EP
See&C, a Rochester, Minnesota music collaboration between Chanou and Chad Hewitt, have released an EP titled 'Swords to Shovels', produced by Matt Pattrick and assisted by session musicians Jasper Nephew and Alex Young.
The title is derived from Isaiah 2:4 "they shall beat their swords into plowshares". In a world of constant peace, weapons are useless and reformed into something useful.
Chanou grew up in the jungles of Laos. War forced his family into a refugee camp and they later legally immigrated to the United States. Music is an important part of his Lahu culture and journey. A big part of Chanou's life is spending time with his wife, kids, and extended family. He is also a great chef who co-owns Hog Thai Catering in Rochester.
Tragedy was the catalyst for Chad's songwriting of the music for See&C. Writing the lyrics and music was part of the process of finding meaning and hope. Outside of playing music and spending time with his wife and kids, Chad works as a computer engineer.
