Redman, Mary Mary, Lecrae, TobyMac, Houghton, Grammy Award Winners 2013 In Christian Music
The 55th Grammy Awards 2013 took place last Sunday, February 10, 2013, in Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Numerous awards were handed in various categories.
Regarding the Christian music, UK based worship leader Matt Redman walked away with two Grammys. Redman received one Grammy in Best Gospel/Contemporary Christian Music Performance: "10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord).”
Redman received the second Grammy for the Best Contemporary Christian Music Song “10,000 Reasons (Bless The Lord).” Redman wrote the song along with Jonas Myrin. However, the surprise was that Redman/ Jonas Myrin were the only one to win in this category. Indeed, there were two songs which won, since this category revealed a tie between Redman’s “10,000 Reasons,” and Israel Houghton/Micah Massey’s “Your Presence Is Heaven.”
Mary Mary walked away winning in the category Best Gospel Song for their "Go Get It.”
Best Gospel Album category win went to Lecrae for his latest project titled Gravity.
TobyMac took home a Grammy Award for the Best Contemporary Christian Music Album for Eye on It.
