The movie follows individuals in a town as they navigate the web and the effect it has on their lives. We are first introduced to a married couple Don and Hellen whose marital life suffers and both of them turn to the internet to find solace while Don finds and escort service, Hellen joins the site Ashley Madison and seeks an affair there. Their son Chris, on the other hand is a pornography addict and is so accustomed to extreme forms of it that when faced with a girl, Hannah, he cannot perform.

Hannah on top of being a cheerleader is an aspiring actress and posts provocative photos on her website which her mother takes in a bid to launch her career, these photos eventually cost her a job. Tim on the other hand is abandoned by his mother whom he tracks down on social media and finds pictures of her and her new fiancé; he tells his online gaming friends who make fun of him. He starts to date Brandy, who's online activity is closely monitored by her mother. The plot seems okay on paper and with a cast that included Adam Sandler, Judy Greer and Jennifer Garner it's a wonder why the numbers just are not adding up.
