Apple iOS 8 Issues with iPhone 4: Resolve Common Problems Before Update

It is safer to say that the new Apple operating system update for iPhones, iPods and iPads hasn't been the smoothest one. While there is no doubt that it is one of the most advanced system developed with an eye towards future, the developers have to deal with a lot of issues in the present. From weak battery life to network reception, the problems don't seem to end so easily for now.

That's why Apple has already rolled out two patch updates iOS 8.0.1 and iOS 8.0.2 in the last couple of weeks. In fact, according to NBC News Apple has even rolled out another upgrade iOS 8.1 this Monday to help users deal with common while launching the future of payment solutions, i.e. Apple pay.

However, a bigger part of the problem is with comparatively older phone models including iPhone 4S. Notably, it is the phone with least RAM and processor speed in the list of upgradable models to iOS 8 update. This poses a greater threat in overall performance, but with few little steps users can deal with common problems until Apple gives out something to deal with them.

Frozen Operating System

This is probably the most common issues with most iPhone 4S models running on iOS 8. If your phones lags or freezes a lot, it is better to reboot it while holding the power button. Meanwhile, download some application to kill apps in background.

Lagging Keyboard

Typing messages can be frustrating on a keyboard that responds seconds after you tap.  Apple experts recommend that you Reset the Keyboard settings through Settings>General>Keyboard. This should help with the problems in iPhones 4S and 5.

Sending and Receiving Text Message Problems

If your messages are not getting delivered, it can be a huge problem in the coming days. Many users believe that turning iMessages off helps deal with it effectively. You can again turn it on later.

Bad Battery Life

According to iMore, it is the most common issues with a rather simpler solution. Firstly, test the battery on standby and if it's running fine, you should adjust the usage accordingly. Deal with background apps, data usage and screen brightness to accommodate.
