'Cougar Town' Season 6th and Final Season News: Prepare to Say Good-Bye to the Wine-Loving Gang

TBS ordered 13 episodes of the hit comedy series "Cougar Town." Fans are both happy and sad - happy that "Cougar Town" is back, but sad that it's going to be the show's final season. "Cougar Town" is an original series first aired in ABC but moved to TBS on its fourth season. The show premiered with a bang with 11 million viewers and a consistent 6 million viewers anticipating every episode of the series.

In an interview with Courtney Cox, the lead actress said "Some people were offended by a show about cougars. Personally, I didn't have a problem with it. I though sexually it was pretty bold and out there; I liked that, but to appeal to the masses the focus had to shift, so now it's not about my life with younger men, it's my life with friends."

While there's a continuing decline in viewership, "Cougar Town" has proven to be successful. It is very rare that a studio-based show successfully transfers to a cable network.

"Cougar Town" is a story about friendship and the peculiarities of life. It focuses on Cox's character and how she deals with her divorce, a son, ex-husband, society, success, failures and friendships. Cast includes Christa Miller, Busy Philipps, Dan Byrd, Josh Hopkins, Ian Gomez, and Brian Van Holt as Jules' ex-husband, Bobby Cobb.

It has been confirmed that Brian Van Holt is not going to return for the final season of "Cougar Town." According to an insider, the actor is exploring other opportunities. Holt recently finished a project on Syfy's "Ascension." There's still no news as to how the show is going to deal with Holt leaving. Are they going to kill his character or maybe off to a vacation somewhere? We'll find out when the season finale premieres. Season 6 also reveals that someone is going to get pregnant.

Michael Wright, president of programming at TBS said, "Cougar Town has everything we hoped it would be: a smart, big-hearted, laugh-out-loud comedy that shines light on the TBS brand."

We're surely going to miss this gang - their wine addiction, the laughter, the tears, and the friendship.
