Matthew West
When Matthew West released his sophomore project on Sparrow Records in 2005, he named it History. Little did he, eight years later, he would make history with one of his songs. His hit single, "Hello, My Name Is" has now officially broken the record for the most weeks at #1, holding on to the top spot for 16 straight weeks on the National Christian Audience chart. The AC Monitored chart is showing nearly as much love as it's had the song at #1 for the past 14 weeks. "Hello" is the second single from the Grammy-nominated Into the Light to make it to #1. The lead single, "Forgiveness" was another favorite at radio, but it didn't break the record.

In typical Matthew West fashion, he was excited to hear the news but also very humble. In a press release, he described his joy, saying, "I am absolutely blown away by this run that 'Hello' has had! Many thanks to all the radio stations across the country for letting the song and its message reach the hearts of listeners. I've always seen 'Hello, My Name Is' as a three minute reminder that we are not our failures. We are not even our successes. Of all the names that try to define us, the only title that truly matters is the one given to us by our Creator; children of God. We are children of the one true King!"
As West prepares to kick off his fall "Into the Light" Tour with Sidewalk Prophets and Jason Castro, he has announced that some of the people who shared the stories that the songs on Into the Light were written about will be at select concerts, sharing the actual tales that went on to become songs.
