Dove Award-winning Christian singer Forrest Frank urged his followers to pay closer attention to the spiritual life of their families after seeing social media posts about gender identity and abortion. In an Instagram video reported by ChurchLeaders on Nov. 4, the "Good Day" singer said he usually tries to stay out of politics and expected that speaking up could cost him followers.
Frank said he opened social media the day after the U.S. midterm elections and encountered posts about inventing new gender identities, children and gender transition, and a joke about paying for abortions. He pointed to the thousands of likes he said some of the posts had received. The examples came from his own feed, and he presented them as the reason he decided to record the video.
"Do not mess around with God. Do not mess around with the family," Frank said. He then turned to Malachi 4:6, a verse about fathers and children turning their hearts toward one another. The verse ends with a warning of judgment, which Frank connected to the consequences of letting family relationships deteriorate. "If we lose the family, we lose everything," he said.
The choice of Scripture gives Frank's remarks a more personal focus. Malachi speaks of fathers turning toward their children as well as children turning toward their fathers. That gives parents a responsibility of their own. Having begun with what strangers were saying online, Frank ended by asking Christians to strengthen their faith and take responsibility for the people in their care.
Separately, Frank will release his new album, The Jesus Generation, on Dec. 4 through River House Records. The album takes its name from his May single and his sold-out summer tour, which visited 29 cities. Frank previewed nine songs on Instagram and invited fans to help choose which one to release first. The previews featured collaborations with Lecrae and KB, Michael W. Smith, JVKE, ZVC and Elevation Rhythm.
The tour will also be the subject of The Jesus Generation Movie, a documentary headed to theaters in 2027 through Lionsgate and Kingdom Story Company. The teaser combines live performances and behind-the-scenes footage with moments of worship and personal testimony from the tour. An exact theatrical release date has yet to be announced.
