Steven Curtis Chapman has announced that his new recording, "10,000 Reasons/Greater Things," will arrive Friday, celebrating a milestone close to his heart: more than 10,000 children helped home to families through Show Hope's Adoption Aid grants.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Chapman recalled the modest dream that began the journey more than two decades ago.
"It started with a dream to help 100 children find their way home through adoption," he wrote. "More than 20 years later, Show Hope's Adoption Aid grants have helped over 10,000 children come home to a family through the miracle of adoption!"
For Chapman, the announcement connects his music with a cause that has shaped his family's life and ministry. He and his wife, Mary Beth, founded Show Hope in 2003 to care for children who have been orphaned by engaging the Church and reducing barriers to adoption. The couple's six children include three daughters welcomed through adoption.
The new recording's title gives particular meaning to the milestone, linking "10,000 Reasons" with Chapman's gratitude for the children and families whose lives have been touched through the organisation's work.
"Only God could have written a story like this," Chapman shared.
His announcement also recognised the supporters who have sustained that work through prayer, generosity, and practical involvement. What began as a desire to help 100 children has grown far beyond that original goal, giving Chapman a fresh reason to celebrate-and to look ahead.
"Thank you to everyone who has prayed, given, and helped make this possible," he wrote. "We have 10,000 reasons to give thanks, and I believe the best is still ahead!"
"10,000 Reasons/Greater Things" is coming Friday.
