Christian author and Bible teacher Whitney Capps has died following her battle with cancer, her husband, Chad, announced in a message shared on her Instagram account. His announcement described a peaceful passing and a family holding tightly to their Christian faith amid profound grief.

"My beautiful Whitney is home with Jesus," Chad wrote. "She breathed her last at 4:25 a.m. this morning." He said her final moments were peaceful, expressing gratitude for God's faithfulness while acknowledging the devastation of losing his wife.

"We are crushed, but we know she is rejoicing, pain free, and cancer free," he continued. "Praise our Lord & Savior."

Capps was diagnosed with stage 4 small bowel cancer in 2021. In a September 4, 2026, devotional published by Proverbs 31 Ministries, she recalled receiving the diagnosis in August of that year and described the continuing difficulty of putting her illness into words, even five years later. Her reflections offered an honest account of suffering alongside her conviction that God remained present.

A national speaker for Proverbs 31 Ministries and a writer for its First 5 Bible app, Capps helped women connect biblical teaching with everyday life. She and Chad raised four sons-Cooper, Dylan, Ryder, and Tate-just outside Atlanta, Georgia. Her ministry biography also records her service as a local Bible Study Fellowship teaching leader.

Her published work included Sick of Me, We Over Me, and The Melody of Grace. She also cofounded Simple Seminary, an online platform helping women engage with Scripture, and cohosted the podcast Theology and Other Fun Stuff. Across these projects, she brought theological teaching to readers and listeners seeking to understand and live out their faith.

In her September devotional, Capps resisted easy explanations for the pain of unanswered prayer. She acknowledged the ache of believing God could heal her while continuing to live with cancer. Reading Romans 8, she pointed readers toward God's presence in suffering and the assurance that nothing could separate them from His love.

"We are never alone," she wrote. "We have grace for whatever today holds." Those words expressed the conviction that sustained her teaching: grace could be experienced within suffering, even while the hoped-for relief had not arrived.

Chad said the family anticipates a funeral on Saturday, October 10, with visitation on Friday evening and again on Saturday before the service. The arrangements remain tentative, and he said further details would be shared once finalized.

He closed by thanking supporters for their prayers. As the family prepares to say goodbye, his announcement holds grief and Christian hope together: they are devastated by Whitney's absence while trusting that she is now at peace with the Savior she taught others to know.
