Taylor Swift may have just found herself at the center of another musical mystery, and this time it comes courtesy of a producer with some seriously impressive names on his résumé.
Producer Ghost Kid, also known as Paul Dawson, raised eyebrows after posting a tantalizing message directed squarely at Swift:
"@taylorswift IT HAS BEGUN.....It has begun."
And naturally, those few words are enough to raise one very big question: What exactly has begun?
Ghost Kid isn't simply a fan trying to get Taylor's attention. Dawson is an established producer with connections to some major names in R&B and pop. His credits include work associated with artists such as Usher and Chris Brown, and he received credits on several tracks from Usher's Coming Home, including the hit "Good Good."
That makes his very public message to Swift considerably more intriguing.
Could Ghost Kid be teasing a new Taylor Swift collaboration? Is he involved with an upcoming musical project? Could there be something visual in the works? Or is the producer simply trying to get Swift's attention?
For now, nobody is saying.
Importantly, there has been no official confirmation from Taylor Swift or her team that she is collaborating with Ghost Kid, and no major music trade has confirmed that Dawson is working on a Swift project. Until that changes, the mysterious post should be treated as a tease rather than confirmation of new music.
Still, Ghost Kid's choice of words is bound to get people talking.
"It has begun" doesn't exactly sound casual. It sounds like an announcement that something is already underway, particularly when the message specifically names one of the biggest stars in music.
If Ghost Kid really has entered Swift's musical universe, it could make for an unexpected pairing. Dawson's background stretches across R&B, pop and gospel-influenced music, potentially bringing a different sonic flavor to whatever Swift might be planning next.
Of course, Swift's fans have become famous for scrutinizing clues surrounding her projects, and a producer publicly declaring "IT HAS BEGUN" while tagging Taylor is almost guaranteed to inspire speculation.
For now, however, the biggest detail is also the most frustrating one: Ghost Kid hasn't explained what he means.
