Just when it seemed Spider-Man: Brand New Day couldn't possibly climb any higher, Tom Holland's web-slinger has pulled off another jaw-dropping box office feat.

The superhero blockbuster has officially vaulted to No. 4 on the all-time U.S. box office rankings, according to Screen Daily, turning Sony's latest Spider-Man adventure into an even bigger theatrical monster than Hollywood may have anticipated.

And at this point, the question isn't whether Brand New Day is a hit. It's how many more records Spider-Man can smash before his theatrical run finally slows down.

The latest milestone comes after an already extraordinary few weeks for the movie. Brand New Day recently crossed the $2 billion mark worldwide, putting it inside one of Hollywood's most exclusive clubs and cementing the film as a genuine global phenomenon.

That kind of performance is especially striking in an era when Hollywood studios have repeatedly faced questions about superhero fatigue and whether audiences are growing tired of massive comic-book franchises.

Apparently, nobody told Spider-Man.

The film's astonishing run also gives Sony plenty to celebrate. Spider-Man has long been the crown jewel of the studio's superhero properties, but Brand New Day is taking that relationship to another level, demonstrating just how much box office muscle the character still possesses when audiences turn out in force.

And Spider-Man isn't the only major movie flexing its muscles.

Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey has now surged past $500 million worldwide during its fifth weekend, according to Screen Daily, giving theaters another major tentpole as the summer movie season continues.

Still, Spider-Man's ascent to No. 4 on the all-time domestic chart is the headline that will have Hollywood watching closely.

With Brand New Day still playing in theaters, its final position isn't necessarily settled either. The movie has already blown through one milestone after another, and every additional weekend gives Peter Parker another opportunity to crawl further up the record books.

For a movie called Brand New Day, Spider-Man is certainly having one.
