Former President Joe Biden's battle with cancer has taken a heartbreaking turn, with his son Hunter Biden revealing that his father is dealing with significant pain as the disease has spread.

Speaking in an interview with the BBC, Hunter offered a candid update on his 83-year-old father's health, admitting that he sometimes wishes the former president would be more open about just how difficult things have become.

"The only thing that I say about my dad, about his health right now, is I wish he would complain more because it's not good," Hunter said.

He explained that the cancer has metastasized into Biden's bones and spread further, describing the condition as "very painful" and "very debilitating in many respects."

Still, Hunter said his father continues to press forward despite what he is facing.

"But he's still out there," he added.

Biden revealed his diagnosis in May 2025, several months after leaving the White House. At the time, his office announced that he had been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had already metastasized to his bones.

According to ABC News, the former president subsequently underwent radiation therapy at Penn Medicine in Philadelphia and was also reported to be receiving hormone treatment. Jill Biden recently said her husband was doing "okay," while explaining that the couple must remain vigilant about his condition through testing and medication every three months.

The latest comments from Hunter have prompted another wave of concern and prayers online.

"Hope and prayers for anyone going thru this!!!" one person wrote beneath ABC News' report.

Another commenter, who identified as a longtime conservative, put politics aside and wrote: "Wishing Joe Biden peace and his family strength."

"My thoughts and prayers go out to the Biden family," another added, while others shared deeply personal stories about loved ones who have also battled prostate cancer.

Whatever one's politics, cancer has a way of stripping away the partisan divide and reminding us of our shared humanity. Behind the headlines is an 83-year-old husband, father and grandfather facing a painful illness-and a family walking through it alongside him.

Please keep Joe Biden, Jill Biden, Hunter Biden and their entire family in your prayers as they navigate this difficult season
