Country star Justin Moore is stepping back from the road - and he wants fans to know he plans to return.
Moore shared the news with fans in an Instagram post on Monday, June 8. The Arkansas native announced he has decided to take time away from touring, saying he will be unable to perform some upcoming dates on his schedule.
In his own words, Moore kept it straightforward: "I've made the decision to take some time to focus on my health. As a result, I'll be stepping away from touring for a short period and will be unable to perform some upcoming shows. This is the right decision for me and my family, and I appreciate everyone's understanding and support. I look forward to getting back out there later this summer."
Moore did not disclose the specific nature of his health concerns, but made clear the decision was made with his family in mind. A representative for Moore confirmed to Billboard that the singer is expected to return to the road for his July 9 show at the Knox County Fair in Knoxville, Illinois.
The country community rallied around him quickly. Jake Owen posted on Instagram: "Take care of YOU brother and those kiddos and mama." Caylee Hammack added: "Shows can always wait, sending love your way, dude."
Moore has earned 11 No. 1 Billboard Country Airplay hits throughout his career, including "Somebody Else Will" and "Small Town USA." He scored his 14th No. 1 earlier this year with "Time's Ticking." His most recent album, This Is My Dirt, was released in 2024.
In past interviews, Moore has spoken openly about the importance of family and keeping life grounded - values that clearly guided this decision too. Choosing rest over the road when it matters most takes courage, and that's something worth recognizing.
We're wishing Justin Moore a full and swift recovery. The stage will be waiting.
