Award-winning Christian artist Zach Williams is marking a major milestone with the release of his new live album, Revival Nights at Red Rocks, available today. Capturing the energy and worship atmosphere of one of America's most iconic concert venues, the project arrives alongside a season of personal renewal for the Grammy-winning singer.
In a recent interview with The JOY FM's Jayar Show, Williams reflected on the making of the live album, new collaborations, and the personal challenges that led him to reassess the pace of his career.
The release of Revival Nights at Red Rocks follows a memorable performance at Colorado's famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre, a venue Williams described as one of his favorites.
"We were getting ready to do Red Rocks this past fall, and I was like, 'Can we please record this show and get some footage and put a thing together?'" Williams recalled. "It's probably one of my favorite venues to play."
The album features live renditions of songs from Williams' recent recordings alongside many of the fan favorites that have helped establish him as one of Christian music's most recognizable voices. According to Williams, the unique atmosphere of Red Rocks made the performance stand out from the moment he stepped on stage.
"It was noticeable," he said. "Everything there sounded just better."
The release also comes amid a significant personal transition. After nearly a decade of heavy touring that included close to 100 concerts annually, Williams revealed he reached a point of exhaustion that forced him to reevaluate his priorities.
"This last year was a really tough year," he admitted. "I couldn't see all the blessings that God had given me. I'd gotten so busy that I wasn't really focusing on any of the good that had happened in my life. I was burned out."
The experience inspired "If God Lives Here," one of the newest songs connected to his current musical chapter. Written shortly before the Red Rocks concert, the track emerged from a season of spiritual questioning and reflection.
"It was kind of a season of, 'Where is God in all of this?'" Williams said. "I couldn't find the joy in it anymore."
Determined to avoid continuing down that path, Williams has decided to slow his schedule considerably, taking the summer off and limiting his touring commitments.
"I feel like the Lord was telling me, 'You need to step back and take a break,'" he shared. "I'm looking forward to seeing what God has in store with this new mindset and new attitude."
Fans will also hear new collaborations on Williams' latest releases, including "Wait for Me" featuring Ben Fuller and "Say a Prayer" with country star Thomas Rhett. Williams revealed that "Wait for Me" was inspired by a story Fuller shared about taking "the long way home," a theme that resonated deeply with both artists' faith journeys.
As Revival Nights at Red Rocks reaches listeners today, Williams hopes the music reflects not only a memorable night of worship but also the lessons he has learned about rest, dependence on God, and rediscovering joy after burnout.
For an artist whose songs have consistently pointed audiences toward hope and redemption, the release represents more than another live recording. It marks the beginning of a new season-one shaped by renewed faith, fresh creativity, and the conviction that sometimes the most important step forward is learning when to slow down.
