Bruno Mars is back - and he didn't ease into it.
The 16-time Grammy winner sold out both nights at Soldier Field in Chicago on May 16 and 17, 2026, as part of The Romantic Tour - his first major headlining stadium run in more than a decade. The two-night stand drew tens of thousands of fans to the lakefront venue, with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. CDT and showtime at 7:30 p.m. each night.
Leon Thomas and DJ Pee Wee joined Mars on stage as special guests for both shows. The setlist covered the full length of his career - Just the Way You Are, Treasure, 24K Magic, Finesse, and That's What I Like - alongside newer tracks including Risk It All, I Just Might, and God Was Showing Off, a title that carried a little extra weight for fans who know Mars was raised Catholic and has spoken privately about prayer being a constant in his life.
The Chicago stop is one of the first major stadium tests for a tour that has already made history. Before the first show even went on sale publicly, The Romantic Tour broke Live Nation's North American record for single-day ticket sales during pre-sale - eventually expanding from 39 dates to more than 70 stops across North America through December 2026.
The tour launched April 10 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and still has major cities ahead: Atlanta, Nashville, Detroit, Tampa, Miami, Philadelphia, and more. Remaining dates are available on Ticketmaster and Live Nation.
For a man who credits God for his gifts - and whose setlist literally includes a song called God Was Showing Off - the return feels like more than just a comeback tour. It feels like a statement.
