Worship leader and contemporary Christian artist Charity Gayle is continuing her recovery after a frightening tour bus accident that left her hospitalized with a concussion during the final stretch of her Rejoice spring tour.
Gayle recently reflected on the experience in an emotional social media post, calling the outcome a testimony of God's protection and grace.
"It's hard for me to believe that Rejoice spring tour is over!" she wrote. "I also have a testimony of my own from tour.. 'He's not done with me yet.' Thanking God He had His hand of protection on our team during our bus accident!!"
The accident reportedly occurred early Saturday morning, April 18, while Gayle and her touring team were traveling from Michigan to Tennessee. According to an official statement from her team, the bus veered off the road, crossed an embankment, and came to rest in a ditch.
"By God's grace and protection the bus did not flip over and the team feels extremely blessed," the statement explained.
Gayle was transported to a local hospital, where she received treatment for a concussion before later being released to recover and rest. No other members of the touring party required medical treatment at the scene.
Known for worship anthems such as I Speak Jesus, Gayle has become one of the most recognizable voices in modern worship music, with her ministry emphasizing prayer, healing, and the power found in the name of Jesus. Her gatherings are often marked by passionate worship and moments of spiritual reflection.
In her update, Gayle expressed deep gratitude not only for God's protection but also for her team, affectionately known as the "Dukes of Denim."
"This ministry is not carried on the back of one, but on the best team this side of Heaven!!" she shared. "Thank you all for coming to worship the Lord with us! I pray you'll do life with Jesus at the center."
As a result of the crash, several tour dates were postponed, including scheduled stops in Warner Robins, Georgia; Ormond Beach, Florida; and Fort Myers, Florida. Her team says they are actively working with promoters and churches to arrange replacement dates.
The news sparked an outpouring of prayer and encouragement from fans and fellow Christian artists across social media, many praising God for the team's safety and continuing to pray for Gayle's full recovery.
Though still healing physically, Gayle's message remains one of gratitude, faith, and testimony - declaring that even through the frightening experience, God's hand was still at work.
