Six-time GRAMMY® Award winner Amy Grant has released her powerful new single, "How Do We Get There From Here," featuring and co-written with acclaimed singer-songwriter Ruby Amanfu. Written in response to the tragic Covenant School shooting, the song arrives as both a lament and a call to action, wrestling with grief, accountability, and the urgent question of how a divided society can move forward together.

Originally sparked by the events of 2023, the song expands beyond a single moment of tragedy, becoming a broader reflection on unity, compassion, and shared responsibility. Through poignant lyrics and restrained production, Grant and Amanfu ask difficult but necessary questions about the cost of division and the possibility of healing.

"Could any of this fighting be worth these children's lives?" Grant sings, while Amanfu adds, "When the ink dries on our story, what will history reveal?" Together, the artists frame the song as both protest and prayer-an invitation to pursue common ground in the face of deep disagreement.

In the aftermath of the tragedy, Grant and Amanfu joined a coalition of artists, including Sheryl Crow, Allison Russell, and Margo Price, advocating for legislative action in Tennessee. When progress stalled, the central question behind the song took shape: how can people move forward together when consensus feels impossible?

"Unity is not sameness," Grant shares. "Unity is standing together in spite of our differences." Amanfu echoes that sentiment, describing the song as a call to choose compassion first-even when it is difficult.

"How Do We Get There From Here" serves as the final advance single from Grant's forthcoming album The Me That Remains, set for release May 8 via Thirty Tigers. Produced by Nashville Songwriters Hall of Famer Mac McAnally, the ten-track project reflects on healing, endurance, and grace, shaped by Grant's decades-long career and recent personal challenges.

Across the album, Grant explores themes of memory, identity, and spiritual resilience, drawing from lived experience-including recovery from open-heart surgery and a traumatic brain injury. The project marks a deeply reflective chapter for the pioneering artist, whose influence spans more than 50 years and over 30 million albums sold worldwide.

To support the release, Grant will headline special events, including "A New York Evening with Amy Grant" at The Greene Space on April 15 in partnership with the GRAMMY Museum, as well as an album release show at Ryman Auditorium on May 8.

The Me That Remains will be available on vinyl, CD, and all major streaming platforms, with exclusive editions offered through select retailers.
