Pastor Greg Locke Denies Arrest Following Booking at Wilson County Jail

Popular Tennessee pastor Greg Locke is disputing reports that he was arrested earlier this week after law enforcement records showed he was booked at the Wilson County Jail on a misdemeanor charge related to a suspended driver's license.

Locke, pastor of Global Vision Bible Church in Lebanon, Tennessee, responded publicly after reports circulated online stating he had been arrested on March 3. According to Wilson County Sheriff's Office records, Locke was booked at the Wilson County Jail at 12:52 p.m. and released six minutes later at 12:58 p.m. on his own recognizance. Authorities also photographed him for a mugshot and entered the booking into the jail's official records.

The charge listed in the booking records is a criminal misdemeanor for driving on a suspended or revoked license.

Locke, however, insists the situation has been mischaracterized. In a statement shared on social media, he said he voluntarily went to the booking room with his attorney to address an administrative issue regarding his license.

"To everyone jumping on a silly bandwagon, I did not get arrested today, or EVER," Locke wrote on Facebook. "I went to the booking room voluntarily with my counsel because my license was unknowingly suspended over not sending in proof of insurance after I paid a ticket months ago."

The pastor explained that the suspension was connected to a Lebanon city court case in April 2025 in which proof of insurance was not submitted after a ticket had been paid. He maintains that he has insurance and plans to provide documentation in court.

"It's seriously not a big deal," Locke said. "I have a court date on March 23rd to prove that I did and do have insurance. Simple as that. Doesn't even go against my record. Just something else for people to talk about."

Police sources told The Tennessean that Locke was initially stopped by authorities on Feb. 10 at a gas station on South Mt. Juliet Road in Lebanon, where officers discovered that his driver's license had been suspended due to the missing proof of insurance tied to the earlier court case.

Locke has become a nationally recognized figure in recent years for his outspoken sermons and large social media following. Despite the attention surrounding the incident, the pastor says the issue is minor and will be resolved through the legal process later this month.

Locke is scheduled to appear in court on March 23.
