250 Artists Gather Together with Bill Gaither Ahead of His 90th Birthday on "I Go to the Rock," Out March 27

Last fall, more than 250 recording artists joined voices for one of the largest Homecoming tapings in history, hosted by Gospel music legends Bill Gaither and Gloria Gaither. That extraordinary, all-day celebration will be released March 27, 2026, as I Go to the Rock (Gaither Music Group), available on CD, DVD, digital platforms and as a global television special.

The first single, "Bread Upon the Water," is available today. The powerful new rendition features Gaither Vocal Band members and alumni Wes Hampton and Marshall Hall alongside Michael Booth, Ronnie Booth, Ernie Haase, and Dustin Doyle. Originally penned by Bill Gaither and Janny Grein and first recorded on the Gaither Vocal Band's 2006 release Give It Away, the song receives a soulful, soaring update that blends heartfelt solo moments with stirring ensemble harmonies.

Hosted by the Gaithers, I Go to the Rock celebrates faith, hope and the enduring legacy of Gospel music. The project also serves as a heartfelt tribute to Bill Gaither, who turns 90 the day before the album's release. Captured live at TBN Studios in Hendersonville, Tennessee, the event united Gospel pioneers and emerging voices for a record-setting gathering marked by joyful song, fellowship and devotion.

"To stand shoulder to shoulder in praise and song with over 250 artists was awe-inspiring," said Bill Gaither. "Vocal performances included Gospel pioneers who helped build this family of singers and musicians, along with new vocal talent delivering this music and message to the next generation. It was a special day for Gloria and me."

Among the award-winning artists featured are Gaither Vocal Band, Sandi Patty, The Martins, The Isaacs, Chris Blue, Jason Crabb, David Phelps, and Angela Primm, among many others.

Over 70 renditions of beloved hymns and Gospel classics were recorded during the one-day taping and will be released across four separate CD and DVD projects. I Go to the Rock features 13 selections on the audio CD and 14 songs and stories on the companion DVD.

Standout moments include:

  • A breathtaking a cappella performance of "Amazing Grace" led by Sonya Isaacs

  • Chris Blue, Jason Crabb and Angela Primm leading a rousing rendition of "I Go to the Rock"

  • A moving spoken-word segment by Gloria Gaither

  • A powerful legacy moment as Sam Parsons delivers "Sweet Beulah Land," honoring his late father, Squire Parsons

Additional classics include "Where Could I Go," "Just As I Am," "Majesty," "He Looked Beyond My Fault (And Saw My Need)," and "There's Something About That Name."

The television special will air on TBN, RFD-TV, The Word Network, Vision, TCT, The Walk TV, TLN, Hope TV, The Miracle Channel, CTS, CTN and Heartland. A radio special will premiere on SiriusXM, with music featured on Bill Gaither's enLighten channel (Channel 150).

The full-length project will also stream on Gaither TV+ and be available for purchase at Gaither.com.
