In a powerful announcement at ChosenCon 2026, attended by more than 4,500 fans, The Chosen creator and director Dallas Jenkins unveiled an ambitious timeline for the next chapters of the groundbreaking faith-based series that has captivated hundreds of millions worldwide.
Jenkins confirmed that Season 6 of The Chosen is currently in production and will be the most expansive and cinematic season to date. The season will culminate in a "supersized" global theatrical finale in Spring 2027, released simultaneously in theaters worldwide and translated into dozens of languages.
"This is the biggest undertaking we've ever attempted," Jenkins shared, noting the scale of visual effects, international dubbing, and production complexity involved.
What's Coming Next
Before Season 6 premieres, fans can expect a new spin-off project titled The Chosen in the Wild with Bear Grylls, set to debut this summer on Prime Video. The unscripted series will feature survival expert Bear Grylls alongside cast members from The Chosen, blending adventure with personal faith conversations.
Following Season 6's theatrical finale in 2027, the studio also plans to release a biblical limited series centered on the life of Joseph in the Old Testament, tentatively titled Joseph of Egypt.
Filming for Season 7, which will conclude the series, is expected to begin within months. According to the timeline shared, Season 7 is projected for release in 2028 and will also feature a major theatrical component before streaming availability.
A Global Faith Movement
Since its debut, The Chosen has become one of the most successful crowdfunded entertainment projects in history. The series, which dramatizes the life of Jesus Christ and His disciples, has been translated into dozens of languages and streamed by audiences across nearly every country in the world.
Jenkins emphasized that the heart of the project remains unchanged:
"This story belongs to the world. Our goal is to make it as accessible and as powerful as possible for every culture, every language, and every generation."
With cinematic releases, international translation efforts, and expanded storytelling beyond the Gospels, The Chosen continues to redefine what independent faith-based media can achieve.
As anticipation builds for Seasons 6 and 7, fans around the globe are preparing for what Jenkins describes as the most emotionally intense and spiritually profound chapters yet.
More updates are expected in the coming months as production advances.
