GRAMMY®-nominated Christian artist Danny Gokey is encouraging believers to rekindle their spiritual fire through four practical steps shared in a recent Instagram video. In a heartfelt message, the American Idol alum spoke candidly about the ups and downs many Christians experience in their walk with God.
"Do you feel like your Christian life is like a yo-yo?" Gokey asked. "You're up and down, up and down. You feel like you're full of God one day, full of His love-and then the next day you're like, 'Where's God's love today?' The Bible says He'll never leave us nor forsake us. So if He's not leaving us, maybe it's us who are growing cold to God and drifting away."
Drawing from Romans 1:21, Gokey reminded viewers that spiritual dryness often comes from a loss of gratitude and worship:
"For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened."
Gokey then shared four keys to staying "on fire and full of God":

Stay praising. Keep your focus on God's goodness through worship, regardless of your feelings.

Stay thankful in all circumstances. Gratitude keeps your heart soft and guards against bitterness.

Guard your heart. Be careful about the influences and emotions that shape your inner life.

Guard your mind. Keep your thoughts centered on truth, rejecting negativity and fear.
"This is how we stay full of God," Gokey concluded. "If we stay praising, stay thankful, and guard our hearts and minds, we'll stay on fire for Him."
The message aligns with Gokey's ongoing mission to inspire hope and faith through both his music and ministry.
