'Jem And the Holograms' 2015: Much Awaited Live-Action Film Release Date Revealed!
Cartoons are pretty much a part of everyone's childhood, and bringing them to life in the big screen is always a joy, at least, when the transition works. A lot of attempts were made to reignite the interest in 80's classics such as the "Transformers," "Scooby Doo" and "G.I. Joe" franchises, almost always have garnered mixed positive to negative reviews from critics, but still manages to pull-through in terms of box office numbers.
"Jem is her name, no one else is the same." "Nashville" actress Aubrey Peeples will play the lead role, and the Holograms will be played by Stefanie Scott, Aurora Perrineau and Hayley Kiyoko.
"Nashville" actress Aubrey Peeples, has been casted as the lead, Jem, in the live-action film "Jem and the Holograms." The Holograms casting: Stefanie Scott, who starred on Disney's A.N.T. Farm, will play Jem's sister, Kimber; Pretty Little Liars actress Aurora Perrineau will play Shana; and The Fosters' Hayley Kiyoko has been casted as Aja, The Hollywood Reporter reports.
Universal Pictures has set an Oct. 23, 2015 release date for its "Jem and the Holograms" movie, based on Hasbro's cult classics 1980's animated series. Directed by Jon M. Chu ("Step Up 2," "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never") from a screenplay by Ryan Landels, the live-action movie re-imagines the eponymous animated 1980's cult series of the same name for the social media age. "Jem and the Holograms" revolves around Jerrica Benton (Aubrey Peeples), who became the online music sensation known as "Jem." Together with her sisters, she embarks on an exciting adventure through the big bustling city that is located in Los Angeles. Their ultimate goal is to unlock the final message left by their father.
Producers are Chu, Jason Blum for Blumhouse Productions, Scooter Braun for SB Projects, Bennett Schneir and Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis of Hasbro Studios.
As per Deadline's update, Universal picture is eyeing Oct. 23, 2015 for the premiering of this movie. This live-action movie based on Hasbro's 1980s animated series about a young woman who leads a double life as a rock star will hit theaters Oct 2015 to all theatres near you. This will be the second project to land on the date after Warner Bros.-New Line's "The Conjuring 2."
