'Icewind Dale: Enhanced' Release Date on October 30, 2014: New Spells, Weapons, Classes, and Improved Graphics and Content
Hold your breath RPG avid gamers! A new and improved video game will be available on your devices soon. The enhanced version of "Icewind Dale," packed with improvements and new items, is set to be released next week, as reported by Geeky-Gadgets.
"Icewind Dale: Enhanced" developer, Beamdog, recently announced that the newest RPG game will be available for Windows, Linux, and Mac systems, starting October 30. Gamers, who have been engrossed with the role-playing game since it was launched in 2000, will be able to purchase the enhanced version of the game in Beamdog, Steam, and GOG online games store for US$20.
Based on the game's description, players will "encounter fearsome beasts that have learned the cunning and ferocity needed to survive among the snow-shrouded peaks" in the enhanced "Icewind Dale." Players will also need to show some bravery, as they "confront an evil that schemes beneath the carven glaciers and mountainsides to wreak destruction upon the face of Faerûn."
The upcoming "Icewind Dale: Enhanced" will also be available as a mobile app game, Eurogamer reported. Trent Oster, project leader for the latest edition of the RPG game, announced on Twitter: "The mobile versions should be very close as well." This is most likely an indication that Beamdog and the rest of the team behind "Icewind Dale: Enhanced" are trying to reach out to a larger number of potential gamers, as they explore the mobile gaming realm for the first time.
PC Gamer also reported that the new "Icewind Dale: Enhanced" is indeed "enhanced," as it is packed with new features, improved graphics, and upgraded content. The official website of "Icewind Dale" said that the upcoming edition of the RPG game will feature no less than six expanded quests, with some of the content based on the previous versions of the game franchise. "Icewind Dale: Enhanced" will also feature 60 new items that players can use throughout the game, and there will also be expanded versions of "Heart of Winter" and "Trials of the Luremaster," as well as "31 new class and kit combinations from Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition."
But the enhancements don't end there: players will also enjoy great gaming experiences with the 122 new spells that are part of the "Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition." Additionally, "Icewind Dale: Enhanced" will include a cross-platform multiplayer and a "new 'Story Mode' difficulty setting to allow players to experience all of the story with none of the Game Over screens."
