It looks like September 2014 will be a very exciting month for techies, smartphone fans and early adopters: apart from the much talked-about iPhone 6, Samsung is also set to launch the Samsung Galaxy S5 Prime, also known as galaxy F or Galaxy Alpha.
The Samsung S5 Prime will reportedly be Samsung's contender in the luxury phones market. A head-on comparison of features indicate that buyers would have a hard time choosing which will be the best buy come launch day.
The constantly stylish iPhone 6 will come in two models, the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch display. A step up from the current Galaxy S5, the Samsung S5 Prime will have a 5.2-inch display and will be sporting a metallic finish for a more premium feel. Resolution-wise, Samsung S5 Prime will have a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels compared to iPhone 6's 1,704 x 906 pixels.
Industry insiders have speculated that the iPhone 6 will have a 128 GB storage option and will run on an A8 chip set. Samsung S5 Prime, on the other hand, will be powered by a 0.5 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor. The latter's 16 GB entry level model can support external cards of up to 128 GB.
At 2,800 mAh, the Samsung S5 Prime is bound to trump iPhone 6's 1,700 mAh to 2,000 mAh capacity. And while Samsung S5 Prime will have a 16 MP camera, it will face stiff competition from the iPhone6's 8 MP version. Users love the iPhone camera for its clear and crisp imagery; minimal filters needed.
