Gerard Way New Music Coming from Former My Chemical Romance Singer
Fans of My Chemical Romance frontman probably won't be hearing any new music by the full band collectively any time soon, but at least their former singer is back. Gerard Way has release his first solo track titled "Action Cat". You can listen to the song above. "Action Cat" will be on Way's debut solo album that will release in Fall 2014. The album will be released on Warner Bros. Records so which he signed his solo deal with earlier this year.
You can buy "Action Cat" on iTunes HERE.
"Action Cat" was produced by My Chemical Romance collaborator Doug McKean. Gerard recorded vocals, guitar and keyboard for the album alongside Ian Fowles of The Aquabats on guitar, Matt Gorney on bass and Jarrod Alexander on drums. Gerard's brother Mikey adds backing vocals on one song on the upcoming album.
Gerard will debut his first solo show with his new band later this summer in Europe at the 2014 Reading and Leeds Festivals.
"I am continuing full-steam into comics, art, and more importantly to some of you - music. I am pleased to let you know I am now signed as a solo artist [to] Warner Bros Records. My album is near completion, and you should expect to hear things in the near future, even today actually- with a brief snippet of what is to come. I am excited. It's starting again," he wrote.
In 2013, My Chemical Romance announced their break-up but released a greatest hits collection earlier this year for their fans. You can check out all of the latest news with Gerard and his new music at his official website HERE.
