Christian Apologist Nabeel Qureshi Dies at 34
Christian apologist and author Nabeel Qureshi has died on Saturday, September 16, 2017. He was 34 years-old. On 30 August 2016, Qureshi announced that he was in the advanced stages of stomach cancer. Qureshi took to his Facebook page to inform fans and followers of his illness saying the prognosis was "quite grim".
"My beloved brother Nabeel, rest in peace and joy with the Risen Lord Jesus Christ. #FriendsForEternity," David Wood, head of Acts 17 Apologetics Ministry, tweeted Saturday afternoon.
"Our brother Nabeel Qureshi has gone to be with the Lord. Please pray for his wife and family," tweeted Mike Licona.
"Heartbroken to learn that Nabeel Qureshi @NAQureshi has died. Thankful for his gospel work, but glad he is now in the presence of Jesus," Ed Stetzer tweeted.
Qureshi was a convert from Ahmadiyya Islam. He served as a speaker with Ravi Zacharias International Ministries (RZIM) and the author of three books, Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus: A Devout Muslim Encounters Christianity (Zondervan, February 2014), Answering Jihad: A Better Way Forward (Zondervan, March 2016), and No God But One-Allah or Jesus (Zondervan, August 2016).
When Qureshi was sick with cancer, he still refused to give up. Rather, he wanted to leave a message of love. "As you consider my ministry, I hope it leaves a message of love, of peace, of truth, of caring for one another," he says. "Our God is a God of love."
