Pleasant Green Choir Adds To Summer Music Selection With Oh The Blood
As the Summer of 2016 hits its zenith, the 2012 How Sweet The Sound Regional Runner Up Pleasant Green Church Choir offers up their contribution to the season with a soon to be classic, Oh The Blood.
Nestled in the heart of Chicago's south side Auburn Gresham neighborhood, the ninety-seven year old Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church stands as a beacon of hope and place of refuge offering a wide array of outreach initiatives and programs that benefit the church parishioners and the surrounding community. Pastor Walter Wendell Matthews leads this thriving congregation where faith, fellowship and music play a vital role in the church's weekly ministry.
We are just a group of ordinary people that God has placed together to worship and unite people through the power of life changing music", states minister of music Elaine Pheloan. "The music ministry of Pleasant Green consists of people of all ages from the children to the seniors who love the Lord and take seriously the mandate to make His praise glorious. We are blessed with some amazing singers, anointed musicians and skillful songwriters, God takes what we have and it all comes together."
Grammy and Stellar Award nominated composer and producer Montage Pheloan (Ricky Dillard and New G, Isaac Carree, Chicago Mass Choir) both pens and produces the lead single with songwriting assistance from Paris Baker. The single heads to radio this week and makes its public outing by way of an EP during the month of September.
