The Emmanuel Quartet Talks About the Value of Hymns
The Emmanuel Quartet has just released a brand new collection of hymns. Entitled Hymns: A Legacy of Inspiration, the Emmanuel Quartet have specifically chosen 18 hymns of the church and have added their acappella touches to them.
"Hymns are special to us," the quartet confesses, "because they remind us of our roots as a church. They have carried the message of salvation and hope down through the centuries in their melodies and lyrics. Not only do they remind us of our past but they keep us looking to the eastern sky for Jesus' return. As you listen to these sacred songs, we hope that you will reacquaint yourself with some old friends but also discover some new favorites. These inspired hymns are a legacy that we want to pass on to each generation. May we be found singing them when our Lord returns."
The Emmanuel Quartet is an acappella gospel group originating in 1989 as the "Highland Academy Men's Quartet." In 1993 the quartet's name was changed and The Emmanuel Quartet was born. The members of the quartet are not only musicians, by desire, but also ministers of the gospel through music. The mission of the quartet is to reflect God's love through music, reminding His people He is with us and returning soon. Over the years, the faces have changed but the smooth harmonies and genuine spiritual message remain. The quartet tours the United States presenting concerts to audiences of all ages and religious affiliations. They've also traveled internationally, participating in several evangelistic events. The quartet's music is all acappella, featuring barbershop-style harmonies. Concerts are presented in a manner that would compliment any Christian program.
