5 Songs To Inspire Us for the New Year
Christmas is over. As we look forward to the new year, what are some Christian songs to inspire us for the new year? Here are 5 of our favorites:
5. "Beautiful Day" by Jamie Grace
In the aftermath of Christmas, it's easy to forget the Lord. "Beautiful Day" looks forward to each new day with gratitude that we are dependent of God's grace and mercy. A must-hear for the new year.
4. "Start a Fire" by Unspoken
Any inspiration that generates out of ourselves will not last. We need to ask God to start a fire within us. A fire that burns with passion for the lost and a yearning for more of Him.
3. "Break Every Chain" by Tasha Cobbs
A new year means new opportunities to serve and the love God. We shouldn't let the past hurts bind us down. Tasha Cobbs' "Break These Chains" is a much needed prayer in this regard.
2. "You Crown the Year (Psalm 65:11)" by Hillsong Worship
Taken from their 2013's "Glorious Ruins," "You Crown the Year" is inspired by Psalm 65:11 which says, "You crown the year with your bounty, and your carts overflow with abundance."
1. "The Day After Christmas" by Matthew West
The number of people who get depressed after Christmas is often overwhelming. Few Christian songs address this dire situation, so we are thankful for Matthew West's "The Day After Christmas." West directly addresses this issue with the words: "But before we have a breakdown, let us remember/The light of the world is still here."
