Amie Aitken's New Single "Home for Good" Raises Awareness of Child Adoption

Amie Aitken

Scotish Christian artist Amie Aitken has released a brand new single "Home for Good."  It's a song that addresses the issue of fostering and the adoption of children.  In line with the teachings of Scripture to care for orphans, "Home for Good" brings God's love for adopted children to live.

Proceeds of the single will also go to help support the work of Home For Good - a Christian charity which aims to make fostering and adoption a significant part of the life and ministry of churches in the UK.

Sppeaking of her new song, Aitken reveals: "It was too overwhelming to try writing a song that reflected the journey of all fostering or adoptive families - every experience is unique and there are too many stories to tell. Instead, I wrote it as a letter to my friend's six year old foster son, who I regularly look after and have a lovely friendship with. Although it was written from a personal story, I hope that other families will be able to relate to it and use it to celebrate their own journey together."

The music video accompanying the single aims to celebrate the joy that is found in spending time with children at home, and to acknowledge the journey that many foster children, particularly those who are in care for many years, have to make in order to find their forever family.

The upbeat, catchy pop track, written by Scottish artist Amie Aitken, is a lyrical glimpse into the life of fostering and adoptive families. Inspired by her own connection with local foster families, Amie wrote the song to perform on the Home For Good Tour in 2014 and it was later recorded at Foundry Music Lab with Amie's band.
